The 30” inch island range hoods are of the smaller type, your kitchen may require a 30 island range hood, perhaps if it’s a smaller kitchen island, most of them require 42” from my knowledge of installing them. 30” hoods often have less air intake and outtake manifolds so that less air is being taken from your kitchen island and let outside.
